E5-P and E5-H series high performance vector control inverter is a special-purposed adjustable speed motor drive for fan and pump, combining application features in fan industry. 2.1 Industrial type selection
Most fan loads are light-load equipment and the ratio of E5-P to motor power rating is 1:1. Other loads like Roots fan, contra-rotating fan, and induced draft fan are heavy-load equipment, and the ratio of E5-H to motor power rating is 1:1.

4. Electricity saving rate calculation and type selection
◆ According to the fundamental law of fluid mechanics, the equipment like fan and pump are of square torque loads, which speed n, quantity of flow Q, pressure H and shaft power P have the following relations:
Q∝n, H∝n2 and P∝n3; Which means that the quantity of flow is proportional to speed, pressure is proportional to square speed, and shaft power is proportional to the cubic speed.
◆ Energy calculation example 1:
1. In a steel company, there is a centrifugal pump, with rated flow of 200.16m3/h, lift of 50m, which is equipped with a motor with rated power of 45kW. According to the operation requirement, the water pump continuously runs for 24 hours per day, and runs at 90% of load for 11 hours per day, and at 50% of load for 13 hours per day. The pump annually runs for 300 days.
The power saving amount per year is:
△P1=45×11×(100%-69%)×300=46035kW·h
△P2=45×13×(95%-20%)×300=131625 kW·h
△P=△ P1+△ P2=46035+131625=177660 kW·h
Based on the price of 0.5 ¥/kWh, the annual saved electric charge is 88,830 ¥.
According to square torque and load relational expression for equipment like fan and pump: P/P0=(n/n0)3, where P0 is rated power at rated speed n0; P is the power at speed n.
Energy calculation example 2:
2. In a heating company, there is an industrial boiler using a 22kW air blower. The working condition is also that the air blower continuously runs for 24 hours per day, and runs at 90% of load for 11 hours per day (the frequency is 46Hz, and power consumption of motor is 98% when damper adjustment), and at 50% of load for 13 hours per day (the frequency is 20Hz, and power consumption of motor is 70% when damper adjustment). The pump annually runs for 300 days. The annual power saving amount of frequency converter is:
W1=22×11×[1-(46/50)3]×300=16067kW•h
W2=22×13×[1-(20/50)3]×300=80309kW•h
Wb=W1+W2=16067+80309=96376kW•h
Power saving amount at damper adjustment is:
W1=22×(1-98%)×11×300=1452kW•h
W2=22×(1-70%)×11×300=21780kW•h
Wd=W1+W2=1452+21780=23232kW•h
The compared power saving amount is:
W=Wb-Wd=96376-23232=73144kW•h
Based on the price of 0.5 Yuan/kWh, the annual saved electric charge is 36,570 Yuan.
By contrast, the power saving amount at frequency converter adjustment within 1 day is 275.1kW•h more than that at valve adjustment, with power saving rate up to 42.1%.
